Rain Rain Rain! So sad to see the lines of people leaving the show when it started pouring at 6:30 Saturday morning and didn't stop until 5pm. Luckily, it was a beautiful day on Sunday and the balloons all got to go up, as planned. We particularly liked the "When Pigs Fly" and the Energizer Bunny Balloons. We heard there was an ultralight crash, but no one was hurt, just a little excitement. Littleton, Colorado is a suburb of Denver in the plains. It's a great place for ballooning. Comments (0) |

The B-52's sound exactly the same as always! And we got to see them at NewWest Fest in Ft. Collins, Colorado, along with Nickleback. People are so nice here it's kind of scary. This town is great. The average age is only 28 in a town of 150,000 people. I thought I saw a lot of kids. And thanks to Paul for the Patron at Lucky's bar! Comments (0) |

A fun festival with tons of bicycling to be done and tons of fun events like the "mud bog" and the bunny-hop contests, the jump jam featuring the Sinsiter team, bands, food, and lots of rain and mud. We hammock-camped at the show behind our truck, and boy, were we glad to have the rain fly! Maybe next year we'll have the courage to camp on "Whiskey Hill" with the hardcore mountain-bikers. | Meeker Days Festival in Puyallup, WA is named for Ezra Meeker who founded the town and was quite a character, making several trips to the east coast along the Oregon trail in his 70's with his covered wagon. Wow. The festival sure started slowly, but picked up steam towards the end, until we actually ran out of certain colors of our double hammock. I guess I need to bring more in the future. Well, this was the last show before heading home, so no worries. Comments (0) |

| We started with a beautiful waterfront, birthday dinner, followed with a cute little festival at a nice marina, and ended with a FABULOUS Elvis impersonator. He rocked Edmonds, WA! Comments (0) |

| Aside from raining three of the four days (what do we expect from the Pacific Northwest?), this was another great show in Seattle, Washington's City Center. Great entertainment, great art, great food! And it's free, too. I love the high energy (the rain did not stop Seattle's best from making an appearance), and the effort made to involve the community in learning about cultures from all over the world using song, crafts, folk art, dance, and food. Did I mention the food?!? Comments (0) |

| Great location right by the Puget Sound in a marina. The marina was nice enough to provide free camping to vendors. There was an emphasis on boats, duh, and there were vendors who made their own steam engines and ships in bottles and cool stuff like that. Comments (0) |

Up for an early morning of balloon flying in Walla Walla, Washington. Who would have thought this country fair surrounded by wheat fields would be so much fun! We met the nicest vendors and people and purchaced our bicycle trailer during this show which works great for ferrying hammocks between the van and the booth. Comments (0) |

| This year, we decided to book five shows in a row all in Washington state, first because we really like it, and second because outdoor activities, including hammocking, are really popular there. The plan is to work on the weekends and explore Washington during the week. Look out, here we come. Comments (0) |

| Here we are packing up the VW van after the show. My brother, Jackson, the one in the middle, is helping out. He and his wife, Jenn, live in Washington D.C., which is only an hour's drive. Comments (0) |

| We had a great show in Seattle. Lots of fun people and great bands including Iggy Pop, Devo, Sun Volt, and Elvis Costello. It only rained one of the four days, pretty good for Seattle. People in the Pacific North West seem to love the outdoors and hammocks. Comments (0) |

| Welcome to the Treehugger Hammocks Blog. Hopefully, I'll get some cool pictures and stories up to let you know where we've been, where we will be, and what we liked best. I will also post photos and stories from your trips and adventures. Please send them to: trina@treehuggerhammocks.com, and I'll get them up as soon as I can.
To give you a little background info, Treehugger Hammocks has been in business since 2002. When we first bought a Treehugger Hammock in July of 2004, we had no idea we'd be buying the company a year later, but the hammocks were just so great we couldn't resist. David and Louise, the original creators, did an amazing job researching the industry and refining the Treehugger Hammock to the point that we believe it's the best hammock in its class. We remain friends, and they're still involved, putting up with all our questions. Since then, we have been working from our home in Asheville, NC and traveling part-time going to festivals and expos around the country. Fun!
Hope you enjoy!
